Welcome to Class 2’s learning page. Here you can find out about our learning with years 3 and 4. This half term’s topic is Up the Garden Path.
In English, we will be basing our learning on the author Beatrix Potter. We will be researching her life and then using this learning to write our own biographies about her life. Then we will be focusing on some of her most famous stories including ‘The Tale of Peter Rabbit’ and writing our own stories in the style of Beatrix Potter.
In Science we will be we will be learning about what plants need to grow as well as the life cycle of flowing plant, including germination, pollination and seed dispersal. We will be growing some of our own vegetables for the school garden which will also link to Mr McGregor’s garden in Peter Rabbit.
This half term in maths, we will be continuing our learning about time. Please try to practise this at home as much as you can to consolidate this learning. Also this term we will be measuring using different units such as grams, kilograms, litres, millilitres, centimetres and metres as well as calculating area and perimeter.
Whole class Brass lessons will continue this term on a Monday morning. In addition, we will have a PE session on a Wednesday morning with Jamie as well as personal challenge with Mrs Brown on a Monday afternoon. Also PE with Mr Wing and RE with Mrs Triggs will continue on a Tuesday afternoon
